Josh P. Keats, a retired Senior Investigator from Orchard Park, New York, died on August 29, 2026, at the age of 55, marking the loss of a longtime member of the law enforcement community.
His passing was announced by Amie P. Feroleto, commander of Troop A, who recognized Keats’ decades of dedicated service and his respected role within the division. He began his career on November 28, 1994, and went on to serve for more than 31 years in various assignments before being stationed at Troop A, SP Boston.
Keats officially retired on August 29, 2025. His death occurred exactly one year after his retirement, bringing a sudden end to a life defined by public service and professional commitment.
Throughout his career, he built strong relationships with colleagues and earned a reputation for dedication and reliability. Members of the law enforcement community have expressed their sorrow, reflecting on the shared experiences and bonds formed over years of service.
Beyond his professional life, Keats was a father and family man. He is survived by his daughter, Mara, and his son, Brody, who, along with other family members and friends, are mourning his loss.
